This house was raised 4 meters so that the house sat above the flood level of the adjacent Colo River. The space under the house was enclosed to provide utilitarian storage and to link the house to the garden. New gauzed verandahs and stairs were added to the river side of the house and the internal layout opened to provide larger living spaces protected from the sun, flies and mosquitoes.
